The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance has released its manifesto for the upcoming BMC elections — less than three days before campaigning is set to end in Mumbai. The document was launched by Mahrashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and his Deputy Eknath Shinde. The Shiv Sena and BJP are contesting most seats in alliance while the third Mahayuti member — the Ajit Pawar-led NCP — goes solo on more than 100 seats.
“We’ll free Mumbai from Bangladeshis. We’ve deported the highest so far. With AI, we’ll identify and deport 100% Bangladeshis. AI tool will be ready in 6 months. Soon, there will be 10,000 BEST buses on the roads. We’ll identify and deport illegal Bangladeshis. Don’t worry about those leaders who’ve failed,” Fadnavis insisted.
The wide-ranging manifesto promised technology-led governance to make the city a “global powerhouse” — with Fadnavis assuring that the BJP-Shiv Sena-RPI (A) alliance would combine “Japanese technology” with local administration to tackle chronic civic problems. They also announced a 50% concession on fares for women in BEST buses and vowed to “free” the city from Bangladeshi migrants. The manifesto emphasised the use of artificial intelligence to curb corruption, speed up clearances and improve service delivery.

‘Won’t let Marathis leave Mumbai’ – Mahayuti housing plans
“We’ll present our report card to the people after five years and show what we’ve achieved. We won’t let Marathis leave Mumbai…we’ll give them houses here. Some people just talk about houses for Marathis, but Mahayuti delivers. We’ll appoint developers, and if they don’t work, MHADA will take over. We’ll give houses to slum dwellers, pavement dwellers, and BMC sanitation workers,” Fadnavis assured.
Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde insisted that the vision of Balasaheb Thackeray “lived on” — nothing that the Mahayuti was focused on development for the Marathi community. He also highlighted the launch of various welfare schemes and a “goal to build 30-35 lakh homes”.
“We’ll build multiplex theaters for them! Marathis, we’ll do 10 times more for you…Mumbai needs to be brought back to its people. A slum-free Mumbai was Balasaheb’s dream. We’re working on SRA in Ghatkopar for 17,000 people. Our goal is to build 30-35 lakh homes. We’ll make Mumbai a Fintech City, the Fintech Capital. We’re setting up a world-class university. In Best, we’ve decided to give 50% reservation to women. We’ll invest Rs 17,000 crores to make Mumbai pollution-free. We’ll strengthen all roads and make Mumbai pothole-free,” he assured.

‘One Mumbai app for all travel needs’
The Mahayuti leaders also promised to introduce a series of travel reforms — including a 50% reservation for women on Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport buses. Shinde also highlighted plans to “invest Rs 17,000 crores to make Mumbai pollution-free” and strengthen roads to ensure the city was “pothole-free”. Fadnavis said the alliance aimed to expand the BEST fleet from around 5,000 to 10,000 buses and switch to electric vehicles. New “midi” and “mini” services would be used to improve last-mile connectivity around Metro and railway stations.
“We’ll work on metro, water taxis, and sustainable transport. One Mumbai app for all travel needs. We’ll decongest roads, build expressways, and make Mumbai pothole-free. 50% concession for women in buses and Rs 1 lakh loan for sisters. We’ll use AI for safe city, control rainwater, and make Mumbai smart! Lokshahi Annabhau Sathe will be our guiding force. We’ll bring change in BMC and work for all Mumbai women,” he added.
