Guided by Values, Anchored in Faith
Fondly known as “Babuji” within his family and professional circles, Jain was widely admired for his wisdom, humility and unwavering ethical compass. The principle of “Ahimsa Parmo Dharma”, closely associated with his life, reflected not only his spiritual grounding but also the values that shaped his personal conduct and professional decisions.
Building the Foundations of InoxGFL
Jain’s professional journey was defined by perseverance, foresight and a deep sense of responsibility. In the early years of India’s industrial development, he played a pivotal role in laying the foundations of what would eventually grow into the InoxGFL Group of Companies, today one of India’s most diversified and respected conglomerates. The group’s interests span Fluoropolymers, Fluorochemicals, specialty chemicals, EV battery materials, wind turbines, solar modules & cells and renewable power generation.
Institution-Building Over Individual Acclaim
Under his stewardship and values-driven leadership, the InoxGFL Group of Companies evolved steadily, guided by long-term vision rather than short-term ambition. Known for his understated style of leadership, Jain believed deeply in institution-building. His emphasis on integrity, governance, financial discipline and people-centric leadership became the cultural cornerstone of the organisation.
A Mentor Beyond the Boardroom
Beyond the boardroom, Jain was known for his warmth, generosity and quiet mentorship. Those who worked closely with him recall a leader who listened intently, encouraged independent thinking and led by example. Even as the group expanded across sectors and geographies, he remained deeply rooted in simplicity, family values and respect for tradition.
Commitment to Society and Responsible Enterprise
His influence extended beyond business into philanthropy and community engagement. Jain believed enterprise carried a responsibility to contribute meaningfully to society and consistently encouraged future generations to pursue innovation without compromising ethical principles.
An Enduring Legacy Carried Forward by Family
At 96, Devendra Kumar Jain leaves behind not just a long life, but an enduring legacy of dignity, resilience and purpose. He is survived by a large and close-knit family, reflecting the values of unity and continuity he held dear. His legacy continues through his sons Pavan Jain and Vivek Jain, along with the entire Siddho Mal Parivar, who remain guided by the principles he lived by.
A Lasting Presence in Indian Industry
