UP SIR Electoral Draft Roll Live: The Election Commission of India will release the draft voter list for Uttar Pradesh today after giving the state more time to complete the process. The list was earlier expected to be published on December 31. A report by The Indian Express says Uttar Pradesh is likely to see the highest number of names removed from the rolls. Tamil Nadu and Gujarat are expected to follow, with deletions of 15% and 14.5% respectively, based on draft lists released earlier this month. So far, no political party has raised concerns about the process.
Why was UP SIR draft roll release delayed?
The delay came after Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Electoral Officer asked for extra time so officials at the district level could double-check voters marked as dead, shifted to another place, or not traceable. The Special Intensive Revision exercise has already been completed in states such as Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala and Chhattisgarh, along with the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
How to check your name in UP SIR draft rolls?
- Visit the Election Commission’s Voters’ Service Portal at https://voters.eci.gov.in/
- On the homepage, look for the section called Special Intensive Revision (SIR) – 2026.
- Click on the option ‘Search your name in Last SIR’. You can search for your name in two ways:
- By entering your electoral details, or
- By checking the last SIR e-roll.
To search using electoral details:
- Select your state, district, assembly constituency and polling station.
- Enter details such as section number, part serial number, your full name as listed in the SIR, age, relative’s name and relationship.
- Fill in the captcha code and click Search.
To search in the last SIR e-roll:
- Choose your state and click View.
- Select your district and assembly constituency, then click Show to see the list.
You can also visit your polling station and check the draft voter list with the booth-level officer (BLO). Every BLO is required to keep a copy of the voter list for their booth.
