Earlier in the day, a Tejas fighter jet, performing at the Dubai Airshow lost altitude rapidly before crashing into the ground, sending billows of smoke skyward.The Indian Air Force confirmed the incident and expressed grief over the loss of life of the pilot. It further stated that a court of inquiry has been ordered to determine the cause of the accident. "IAF deeply regrets the loss of life and stands firmly with the bereaved family in this time of grief," stated IAF in the official statement.A Tejas fighter jet of the Indian Air Force crashed during an aerobatic performance at the Dubai Air Show on Friday. The HAL-manufactured light combat aircraft went down around 2:10 pm local time after nosediving mid-manoeuvre on the final day of the event at Al Maktoum International Airport.The incident is under further investigation. |
