In a shocking development, the parents of the class 10 student, who committed suicide by jumping from the platform of Rajendra Place Metro Station in Central Delhi on Wednesday, claimed that the teachers of the teen’s school continuously harassed him.
Shaurya Pradeep Patil, a 10th-grade student at St. Columbus School in Delhi, took his own life after leaving a suicide note, in which he blamed the teachers of his school. The incident has snowballed into a major protest after protesters held a candlelight protest outside the school, demanding respect for Shaurya.
The student, a resident of Dhavleshwar village in Khanapur taluka of Sangli district in Maharashtra, was found bleeding by a bystander who alerted the police. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
However, Shaurya's father alleged that his son had been struggling with the treatment he received at school for months. "He would tell me and my wife that the teachers scolded him for every little thing and mentally traumatised him. We complained verbally several times, but they didn't listen," he said. The parents said they contemplated changing schools but decided against it as class X exams were approaching.

"His exams were coming up in a month or two. He gets twenty points from school. I didn't want any trouble," the father said, adding that the family had assured the boy that he would be admitted to another school after the exams were over.

The police found a one-and-a-half-page suicide note in Shaurya's bag in which he levelled serious allegations against the teachers and school management. "The school authorities spoke so harshly that I had to do this... The school teacher is such a bad person, what can I say..." he said, while apologising to his parents and brother.
“My parents did a lot... I'm sorry... I couldn't give them anything. If anyone needs my organs, please donate them," he added.
