Even as an NIA investigation continues into the November 10 car blast in Delhi, fresh reports suggested on Friday that Dr Umar Un Nabi, the man who drove the explosive-laden vehicle, assembled the bomb at a public parking space near the Red Fort.
As per CCTV visuals, the Hyundai i20 car entered the parking space at 3.19 pm and exited at 6.22 pm. Umar did not get out of the car even once and allegedly spent those three hours in the parking area putting together the explosives, reported IANS, quoting sources in the investigation team.

Umar and his associates had initially planned to detonate a blast at the parking place, but the area was deserted as it was a Monday and the Red Fort was closed. So, they changed their plan and decided to set off the explosion on the bustling Netaji Subhash Marg, which borders the Red Fort on one side and Chandni Chowk on the other.
The news agency further quoted sources as claiming that Umar, a doctor affiliated to the Al Falah University in Faridabad, was in contact with his handlers as he entered the blast site.
However, the question remains as to why he took the risk of remaining in one of the most heavily guarded zones in Delhi for three hours. Investigators suspect that he might be waiting for a sleeper cell contact or logistical backup.
Police had earlier claimed that Umar carried out the explosion prematurely after the arrest of several individuals of the Faridabad terror module triggered a panic within the group.
