S Chand FY26 Profit Rises 21% To Rs 731 Mn, Revenue Up 11%

Education content publisher S Chand and Company reported an 11 per cent year-on-year rise in consolidated revenue to Rs 7,987 million for the financial year ended 31 March 2026, while profit after tax increased 21 per cent to Rs 731 million.
The company said its FY26 revenue remained broadly in line with its Rs 8,000 million guidance while EBITDA margin stood at 18.1 per cent, within its projected range of 18 per cent to 20 per cent.  For the fourth quarter of FY26, revenue rose 16 per cent year-on-year to Rs 5,478 million, while quarterly profit after tax increased 20 per cent to Rs 1,695 million.
The company also announced an interim dividend of Rs 4 per share.
During FY26, S Chand completed the acquisition of CPD Singapore Education Services Pte. Limited. According to the company, CPD Singapore publishes supplementary books aligned with Singapore, IGCSE and International Baccalaureate curricula, helping strengthen S Chand’s product portfolio in international education segments.
The company said the acquisition is expected to support its curriculum capabilities across India and Asian markets.
S Chand said it remained net debt-free during FY26 and ended the year with a net cash position of Rs 1,048 million, compared with Rs 1,036 million in the corresponding period last year.
The company also highlighted improvements in working capital metrics and operating cash flows during the year. Operating income increased to Rs 861 million in FY26 from Rs 798 million in FY25, while operating cash flow stood at Rs 747 million.
S Chand said content licensing revenue grew more than 60 per cent to Rs 318 million during FY26 from Rs 195 million in the previous financial year.
The company said it expects complete adoption of the revised syllabus books across the K-12 segment during FY27 and FY28, which could support future growth.
S Chand operates across early learning, K-12 and higher education segments and publishes more than 13,500 book titles through brands including S Chand, Vikas, Madhubun, New Saraswati House and Chhaya Prakashani.
