Steps taken to control dust and pollution
To reduce dust pollution, MCG is running 18 mechanised road-sweeping machines at night to avoid traffic problems during the day. The civic body has also deployed 10 truck-mounted anti-smog guns and sprinklers to spray treated water on major roads and other areas. Water tankers are being used regularly to help control dust, an MCG spokesperson said.
Officials warn of strict action
MCG Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya said controlling pollution remains a key focus for the civic body. He said all GRAP rules are being enforced strictly and action against violators will continue, the Indian Express reported.
