French PM Lecornu says new government must reflect parliamentary reality
The next French government will have to reflect the composition of the National Assembly, Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu said on Saturday (October 11, 2025) after his reappointment."We need a government that reflects the reality of parliament but is not held hostage to partisan interests," Mr. Lecornu told journalists after a visit to a police station in L'Hay-les-Roses, a suburb south of Paris.
Asked about the potential suspension of France's pension reform, Lecornu said "all debates are possible as long as they are realistic".
