NTA Says Neet UG Saw Question Exposure, Not Full Paper Leak

NTA Director General Abhishek Singh has reportedly informed the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth and Sports that while some questions may have circulated outside, the Neet-UG paper itself was not leaked through the agency’s system.

The development comes amid continuing scrutiny of the examination process and growing concerns around the integrity of national-level entrance tests. Several Members of Parliament questioned top National Testing Agency (NTA) officials on Thursday over alleged irregularities in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (Neet-UG), with the agency reportedly maintaining that the examination paper was not leaked through its system.
During the meeting, several MPs reportedly grilled NTA officials on measures being taken to strengthen examination systems and prevent future paper leak incidents. The Parliamentary panel had summoned senior officials from the Ministry of Education, including Education Secretary Vineet Joshi. NTA Chairperson Pradeep Kumar Joshi and Director General Abhishek Singh presented details of reforms recommended in the Radhakrishnan Committee report to restructure and strengthen the testing agency.
According to media reports, Singh told the committee that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is continuing its probe into the matter.
The discussion reportedly focused on strengthening examination security protocols, digital safeguards and institutional accountability following controversies surrounding competitive examinations over the past year.
The Radhakrishnan Committee was constituted to recommend reforms in the functioning of the NTA after concerns over exam integrity, operational lapses and alleged paper leak incidents triggered nationwide debate around entrance examination governance.
