Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin said that the Tamil Nadu Government is taking all the observations and guideline given by the High Court regarding the Karur Tragedy very seriously.In a Statement posted on X, he said, “ We are all heartbroken by the tragedy in Karur. I feel the pain of every family that has lost a loved one.”
He also said that an SIT formed on the orders of the Madras High Court will begin its investigation into the Karur Stampede. He assured that the truth would come out and that accountability would be ensured on all levels.

He said that Tamil Nadu will take steps to guide the country to prevent stampedes. For this, he said that they will “formulate a comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) across the state in consultation with sectoral experts, political parties, activists, and the public. This will be a model not only for Tamil Nadu but for the whole of India.”
He asked everyone to move towards a long-term solution without blaming each other for political motives. He ended the statement with “Every life is priceless. Let us come together to save the lives of our people and to prevent such a tragedy from happening again, not only in Tamil Nadu but anywhere in India!”
Meanwhile, the court has given permission for the addition of more members to the Special Investigation Team investigating the tragedy. Namakkal SP Vimala and CSCID SP Shyamala Devi will be included in the team.
